Developed in-depth enterprise stories about commercial and residential properties while maintaining day-to-day coverage in a city deeply affected by the foreclosure crisis as reporter covering real estate. Wrote a weekly column. Talked with families losing their homes and developers watching multimillion-dollar projects crumble.

Prior to that, wrote about consumer issues and health-care business and covered Southern Arizona’s largest energy provider. Cultivated consumers as sources while maintaining working relationships with business owners.

Handled breaking news and crime coverage from October 2006 to September 2007. Talked with victims or their family members under challenging circumstances. Mined court documents for important details about crimes when police officers refused to provide additional information. Frequently wrote several stories per day.
